Five little seashells

Five little seashells sitting by the shore.
Swish went the waves and then there were four.

Four little seashells pretty as can be
Swish went the waves and then there were three
Three little seashells all pearly new
Swish went the waves and then there were two
Two little seashells lying in the sun
Swish went the waves and then there was one
One little seashell lying all alone

I picked it up and took it home.

Cup hands like seashells, make a giant wave with your hands.

Five Little Monkeys

5 little monkeys swinging from a tree
Teasing Mr. Crocodile
"You can't catch me no you can't catch me"
Along comes Mr. crocodile as quiet as can be and SNAP

For this rhyme we swing back and forth, shake our finger to tease Mr. Crocodile, tiptoe and whisper, then slap our hands together in crocodile jaws.

Obviously, I did not make this flannel. I found it in the cupboard. It isn't particularly good - it sticks more to my fingers than the board - but the thought of trying to cut out monkeys makes me feel all quivery, so we stick with this one.

One spider went out to play

One spider went out to play (take hand of one child)
Out on a spider’s web one day He had such enormous fun
He called for another spider to come (choose another child)

(Continue until all children are “hooked” onto the “spider”)
All the spiders went out to play Out on a spider’s web one day
They had such enormous fun
They didn’t see the web break! (clap hands)
And they all fell down (all fall down)
